In
June 2005 TerraNova formed a new company (Meta NZ Ltd), whose principal
role is to operate the three refuse stations (now known as EcoDepots)
in Christchurch. Meta NZ has major changes planned in order to divert
more and more resources from landfill. Transforming refuse stations
into EcoDepots, in both name and practice, is at the centre of these
plans Meta NZ’s vision is to redefine what ‘waste’ is, by seeing it as a resource that should be utilised rather than being buried in landfill. In the upcoming months Meta NZ will begin introducing changes and improvements in the way the EcoDepots operate, and in how they process the material brought to them by others who no longer have any use for it.
Meta
NZ is run by an independent board of industry related business and organisational
professionals. The administrative and operational office of Meta NZ is
at the EcoDepot, Metro Place, Bromley. Meta NZ Head Office is at 81 Buchanans
Rd, Hornby.
